Yes, choconana is a word in our house. The classic combo of chocolate and banana is one of our favorites. I’ve been told I make some of the best banana nut bread, so I thought, can this get even better?? The answer is YES! Here is my recipe for chocolate banana nut bread, aka choconana nut bread.
Ingredients
3 ripe (brown) bananas
1/3 cup butter, melted
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 egg beaten
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/4 cups flour
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
For original recipe omit cocoa powder and do 1 1/2 cups of flour.
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Butter or spray loaf pan
In a large bowl smash bananas
Mix in wet ingredients with bananas —butter, egg, sugar, vanilla, cocoa, baking soda, and salt
After the wet mixture is completely mixed add in the dry ingredients -- flour and walnuts
*** IMPORTANT TIP: do not over mix at this step, bits of flour are okay ***
Pour batter into loaf pan and bake at 350 for approx. 1 hour or until tooth pick comes out clean.
Store in an air tight container on the counter and ENJOY!
Let me know if you have any recipe requests!
xoxo,
Danielle
